The lead up to Christmas always brings a shift in energy, the city softens, the sea air sharpens, and Brighton begins to glow in its own quiet, coastal way. This December, The Illustrated Jeweller will be taking part in the Brighton Beach House Christmas Fair at Soho House Brighton, a curated festive event celebrating independent designers, makers and creatives from across the South Coast.

Held inside the Brighton Beach House on Madeira Drive, this Christmas fair brings together a hand-picked selection of fashion, accessories, homeware, art, food and drink, all under one roof. Visitors are invited to explore the Rock Room and the Loft while discovering unique pieces created by local makers, before moving through to the club space where live music and seasonal drinks continue the atmosphere into the evening.

For those already familiar with my work, this event is an extension of the world behind The Illustrated Jeweller. It is about slow design, symbolism, storytelling, and creating jewellery that carries meaning rather than simply decoration. This Christmas fair allows me to share new pieces in person, including works from my celestial and nautical collections, alongside exclusive pieces not available online.

This Brighton Beach House Christmas event is also a moment of connection. Over the past year, so much of my work has existed online, through my website, Instagram, and digital commissions. Being able to physically meet customers, collectors, collaborators and new faces brings the work back into a tactile space. You can see the weight of the pieces, feel the textures, observe the detailing, and talk through the stories behind each design.

Jewellery is an emotional language, it holds memory, sentiment and personal meaning. At events like this, conversations happen naturally. We talk about commissions, gift ideas, special occasions, and how particular motifs connect with personal journeys. From sea symbolism to celestial elements, each design carries layers of intention.

Alongside the Christmas fair, this moment also ties into the wider expansion of my work, including my upcoming Illustrated Academy courses and workshops launching next year. These courses explore CAD jewellery design, illustration, and AI model placement, offering designers a way to build their collections, portfolios and visual identity.

Events like this are about more than selling jewellery, they’re about creating presence, strengthening community, and building a space where creativity thrives locally. Brighton has always played a role in my creative journey, from early influences to collaborations, to the constant energy of its independent scene. Being part of a Soho House Brighton Beach House event is not just a pop-up, it is a reflection of that ongoing relationship with the city.

If you are attending the Christmas fair, I would love for you to come and say hello, see the pieces in person, and experience the collection up close. It’s also a perfect opportunity to find meaningful Christmas gifts, from statement jewellery to one of a kind designs, created with intention and craftsmanship.

If you can’t attend in person, you can still explore the collections and ongoing projects through my website and social channels. Details on courses, workshops, and future events are also updated regularly.
