Welcome to Design Diaries - A New Chapter for The Illustrated Jeweller

Something significant has been happening behind the bench.

After five years of building The Illustrated Jeweller on WordPress, we have moved to a brand new home. A new Shopify store, rebuilt from the ground up — designed to reflect where the brand is now, and where it’s going.

This new chapter feels right. The collections have grown. The bespoke commissions have taken on a life of their own. The story of Albert Self, of sailors and swallows, of jewellery as a talisman — all of it deserves a home that matches its ambition.

Design Diaries has always been the place where I share what’s happening behind the scenes. The sketches before the CAD. The stones before the setting. The ideas before they become heirlooms. That continues here.
