The Safe Return Swallow is cast in solid sterling silver, wings spread wide, carrying a chocolate freshwater pearl at its heart. Warm, deep, and burnished with bronze — it has the quality of something found rather than made. Something the tide brought in and left behind.

Every piece in this collection begins with Albert Self, my great-great-grandfather, lost at sea on Christmas Day 1885. His story is in the metal. His memory is in every swallow that leaves this bench.
